IdP installation and deployment marathon

The collaboration of GN4.3 WP5, CYNET and GLAD is organising an IdP installation and deployment marathon at the University of Cyprus. Below, you can find the details about the event, registration and logistics information.

THE PURPOSE
Deploy a fully operational Identity Provider for the organization you work for.

THE CONTENT

• All the participants will be provided HOW-TOs on the Shibboleth Identity Provider installation, configuration and deployment
• The HOW-TOs will cover Shibboleth Identity Provider integration with OpenLDAP based directories as well as Active Directory ones

THE AUDIENCE

The event targets Identity Management Administrators. The required knowledge and skills are:

• Linux System Administration.
• CLI and terminal based editors.
• Servlet engine and HTTP based application deployment.
• Basic knowledge of the SAML 2.0 standard.

RECOMMENDED ACCOMODATION
There is an agreement with Hilton Cyprus (about 5 kms from the venue) (www.cyprus.hilton.com) for special rates. Provided that the booking is made via Cynet, the rate is: 110euro/single and 144euro/double).
Other suggestions are Semeli Hotel (very close to Hilton) (https://www.semelihotel.com.cy/) and for those who want to be right next to the venue (but rather far from the city centre) is UC Hall Residence (https://uchall.com.cy/en/).

GETTING TO THE VENUE AND USEFUL TIPS

The best way to get around is by taxi. Bus service is rather limited.

TIP #1: 
I would suggest landing at Larnaca airport, which is much closer to Nicosia than the Pafos one!

TIP #2:
The weather will be hot, so bring light clothing!

TIP #3: 
Electricity plugs in Cyprus are G type – UK like.
